Love my Cricut Explore Air but....
I have been a user of Cricut products for over 6 years. I recently just upgraded my Cricut Expression to a Cricut Explore Air. I love it. I also own a Silhouette Curio which I use for different purposes. The Cricut Explore Air is a superior product for paper crafting.

I do have some thoughts on the Cricut Design Center. And perhaps these items can be included on any future redesigned Cricut Design Center. It needs a serious upgrade. I like having more control over what I do.

Some of the things I would love to see Cricut Design Center implement are as follows:

The ability to fill a page with designs or images without having to copy and paste multiple times.
The ability to place a design or image exactly where you want it on the design mat so that it duplicates the placement on the cutting mat. ( I do a better job of fitting in more images thus wasting less time and paper)
The ability to do offsetting. This is huge, especially when you want to weld the offsetting so that the actual image sits nicely on the offset.
The ability to use my own fonts from my computer. Sometimes I just want to use the fonts I already own as I also have Adobe Illustrator.
Standalone Application, not requiring an internet connection. Yes I know there is the mobile app but it has even less capabilities than the computer one.

I have been doing a lot of research online and the consensus seems to be that while the Cricut machines are better than similar machines on the market, the software for Cricut is lacking. Your customers would love to have these options available to them.

Lots of $ for a machine that is not dependable! It's decent when it works.
After much deliberation of the cost I finally I purchased the Cricut Air 2 in October of 2016. My biggest concern was having the time to figure out how to use it and time to do many much wanted projects. The first weekend I used it, I was surprised that it was easy to use . I made three fairly easy projects and packed it away waiting for the time or need to use it again. Now, my husband needs a project done so I just got it back out and the machine will not power on. I called the Cricut support number and was pleasantly surprised by a nice English speaking young man. The issue was he would only stick to the Cricut script, no apologies no understanding my frustration. He is sending me a new power cord 'Cricut protocol' that will take a week or so to get to me allowing for processing and shipping time. If the power cord does not fix the issue, I will have to take a video of the power cord not working before Cricut will consider sending me a new machine since mine is still within the warranty period. I am not very impressed with spending this much for a machine that fails to power on the second time I am ready to use it. Cricut Air 2 might be good for everyday craters however I would not recommend this machine if you are a busy lady who only has time to craft once in a while. It is a machine you cannot depend on. Plus they should teach their phone operators that a little bit of empathy goes a long way in customer satisfaction. By the way - I much prefer to write positive reviews rather than negative reviews!

Explore Air 2 is my #1 pick
LOVE MY EXPLORE AIR 2!!! I've reviewed and researched both Explore Air 2 VS Silhouette, the A Ir 2 cuts very intricate items so easy. A faster cut on some items. Its nice to use my Ipad or phone on the Air 2. I used this product a lot, from wood signs,Christmas tags, Decor.Cards,Window Cling and more...

Great machine, Lackluster Software!
The machine itself is great, however the software leaves you wanting more. Since the software is cloud based, you have to wait every time you change something in design space. Sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it takes minutes to load. This means if you are just trying to tweak something that would normally take seconds to do, it may take a minute or two. This adds up fast when you are designing from scratch.
That brings me to designing and tools, they suck. You are really limited in what you can do inside design space. You might have to download another program and design stuff in there and then try and bring it over. You can't even curve words, you have to separate them and angle each letter individually all while trying to keep the spacing and alignment correct.
Apps: only if you have Apple. Android users, they don't care about you. They constantly come out with updates and improvements for apple products but haven't even released a beta version for android, which says coming soon on the website for some time now.

I import a lot of images and something that drives me crazy is the eraser tool. It is almost impossible to get the tool to the size you want. Sometimes it won't even change the size and you have to resize it over and over again before it will get any smaller.

Cricut please fix Design Space, this is the only reason I am giving you this rating. It's very frustrating just waiting to add text or shapes when it should be instant. If it weren't for the software, I would no doubt given you 5 stars.

Best electronic cutting machine out there!
I have been using the Cricut Explore Air for a few months now and absolutely love it! I had a Cricut Expression for many years but lost interest in it because of the limitations when trying to cut my own svg and jpg files. I accidentally came upon a YouTube video of a person using the Air and I was instantly intrigued. I thought I would never own another Cricut and after seeing that video, I wanted one ASAP! I did my research and ordered the Air within a few days. The Air has lived up to all its expectations and more! I encourage anyone with another cutter to consider upgrading to the Air. ProvoCraft has hit a home run with this machine!

A great machine. I also wish the Print then Cut area was larger like with my Cricut Imagine
For the Print and Cut you cannot use the Cricut Imagine mats as they have Black Borders. I will try to cover these as I have many of the Imagine mats.

Difficult to figure out.
Difficult to figure out when you are a first time user. Don't understand why there isn't an instruction book without having to download or look for hours on line. If I ever figure it out I'mean sure will love it. But for now really a pain.

Pretty Good Little Machine
Works good but cuts quite slow. Over all a great product that I am very happy to own. I am looking forward to making many craft projects with my grand kids.

no adapter with the starter kit
You would think that is you are buying a starter setup for the Explorer Air, the wireless bluetooth adapter would be with the starter kit and not have to buy one. You purchase the explorer air because it was wireless.
I have not used the item because of the missing bluetooth adapter.

Nice concept. Poor execution.
A product such as this should work immediately out if the bix without hours of frustration trying to get print and cut to work. Its should be trivial for a sensor to detect a black calibration line on white matte paper but no it didnt. Hours of frustration to first get the page to print on a canon pixama printer. Kept saying that the upper tray was empty when it was supposed to print from the bottom tray. Then it wouldnt read the second calibration mark. First one ok then quit on the second one. Cant be the color of the ink then can it? Many possible solutions offered on site and on web. Really? Why doesnt ut just work? Why sell a product if it doesnt work from the get go?
